Mimi's Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 4 potatoes, cut into eighths
- 6 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 slices white bread, cubed
- 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 - 15 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon winter savory
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
Add all ingredients into a large dutch oven (or similar pan) and stir to combine.
Cover and bake for 5 hours.
I like to serve this with cornbread and coleslaw!
